Gutter Replacement in Woodward, IA

Tear off failed gutters, inspect the fascia, install a new seamless aluminum system. When repair will not hold, replacement is cheaper than another season of water damage.

The short version

Tear-off, fascia inspection, full system swap. One day on most homes.

Replacement is for systems past their service life. Sectional aluminum from the 1990s is at the end of its run. Steel gutters that have started rusting at the seams are leaking water behind the fascia even when they look fine from the curb. Once a system is failing in three or four places, patching it is more expensive over five years than replacing it once.

The signs we see most often: sagging mid-span between hangers, separating end caps, rust streaks down siding, downspouts pulling away from the house, and water pooling at the foundation on the side of the house where the gutters drain. If two or more of those describe your home, replacement is the conversation. If only one is present, repair is usually the right call. We will tell you straight which one you actually need.

The replacement workflow runs across Dallas, Polk, Boone, and Story counties. Tear-off and reinstall is still typically a single day with a two-person or three-person crew. Old gutters and debris go to our trailer. Fascia gets inspected during tear-off, and any soft spots get flagged before new aluminum goes up so you do not end up hiding a rot problem inside a fresh install.

What’s included

Every replacement job covers this.

01

Failure walkthrough

We walk the system with you, point out what is failing and where, and tell you whether replacement is actually the right call. If repair makes more sense, we say so.

02

Tear-off and removal

Old gutters, hangers, and downspouts come down. Sealants get scraped off the fascia. Debris and standing water inside the runs gets cleared so we can inspect what’s behind.

03

Fascia inspection

Every fascia board gets checked once it is exposed. Soft spots, water staining, and rot get flagged. Small repairs handled on the spot. Larger carpentry quoted before new gutters go up.

04

On-site fabrication

New 5-inch or 6-inch K-style aluminum, run continuous on the brake truck. Color-matched to fascia or trim. Full system, not patches over old runs.

05

Install and pitch

Hidden hangers every 18 to 24 inches into solid wood. Every run pitched to its downspout. Drops repositioned if the original locations were causing foundation or walkway issues.

06

Haul-away and walkthrough

All old material leaves on our trailer. We magnet-sweep the perimeter for loose nails and walk the finished system with you before invoicing.

Gutter Replacement · FAQ

Questions we hear about replacement.

How do I know if I need replacement instead of repair?
If the failure is at one or two seams, repair is usually the right call. If you see sagging mid-span, multiple leaks, separating end caps, or rust on steel gutters, the system is at end-of-life and patching it costs more over five years than replacing it once. We will tell you straight which one you actually need. See our repair scope for comparison.
Will you find rotted fascia underneath?
Sometimes yes. When old gutters have been leaking, the fascia behind them softens. We inspect every board during tear-off. Small soft spots get treated. Full board rot needs carpentry before new gutters go up. We will flag it before quoting and not hide a problem inside a new install.
Can you reuse my existing downspouts?
Usually no. The drops are sized to the gutter profile and color-matched. If you are switching from 5-inch to 6-inch, the drops have to change. If your existing downspouts are dented, faded, or off-color, replacing them with the gutter system gives you a clean look and matching warranty.
How long does a tear-off and replace take?
Most homes are still a single day. Tear-off adds two to four hours over a fresh install. Larger or multi-story homes can run into a second day. Crew is two to three people. You do not need to be home.
What happens to the old gutters and debris?
Old gutters, hangers, downspouts, and any leaves or debris pulled out during tear-off go to our trailer. Property is cleaned up, magnet-swept for loose nails, and left as we found it. No dump trips on your end.
